The #BeattheFlu Challange is Over

Well A. Vogel's Beat the Flu Challenge is over and I've been healthy the entire time!  Also - my seasonal allergies haven't kicked in yet this year: a wonderful little side bonus for me!

Lots of people around me were sick over the last month - and I've been out interacting with the public quite a bit with out catching a thing - I fought them all off!

What I found interesting was the one time I had to resort to taking 3 doses a day - and I didn't even need to do the full 3 days - I only took 5 doses over 2 days and my cold symptoms faded away!

I also loved that the kids took it with no complaints.  I blended it with raspberry tea and and honey and there were no complaints.  I had healthier kids faster because of it and therefore a calmer home - bonuses all around.

Another thing did a little differently is that I just added a teaspoon of the Hot Drink to my morning smoothie - I didn't always make tea.  So it's quite versatile, which is good for me because I get bored with the same old thing everyday!

It was a great experiment and I'm hooked - I'll be keeping the Hot Drink in our 'medicine' cabinet from now on :)

Check out A. Vogel's website - it's very informative.

Experimenting In My Kitchen while on my Candida Cleanse ...

I took the Dr. Oz microwave flax muffin recipe and came up with this:

1/4 Cup Chia Seeds
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp agave syrup (a bit of a cheat but I didn't have anything lower on the glycemic index in the house!)
1 tsp cinnamon
A pinch of pumpkin pie spice
1 egg
1 TBSP red palm oil

Mix it all in a coffee mug. Then sprinkle some hemp seeds on top.

Zap it for 1 minute on high in the microwave (I'd love to hear oven options!)

Dump it out of the cup, spread with pure peanut peanut butter or butter or jam ... you've got options!
Enjoy!

I found this a little dry, I might add a milk alternative next time....  But this was SUPER filling - I could only eat 1/2 of it :)
